Angelina Jolie made a rare public appearance in West Hollywood on Thursday, where she treated Pax and Zahara, two of her children, to sushi.
Jolie, 45, was dressed entirely in black, from her bag to her sandals, and wore a mask that read “100% human.”
In a red and blue plaid shirt and a grey flat-brim baseball hat, Zahara, 16, matched her mother, while Pax, 17, was the most colorful of the three in a red and blue plaid shirt and a grey flat-brim baseball hat.
Despite its unassuming location on the second floor of a strip mall, Sushi Park on Sunset Boulevard has received praise from The Infatuation and none other than Goop.
Those glowing reviews come with a hefty price tag: Sushi Park’s omakase will set diners back about $200 per person, according to The Infatuation.
The night out was likely a welcome distraction from Angelina Jolie’s bitter divorce from ex-husband Brad Pitt, which has dominated the Jolie-Pitt family for years.
During an interview with “Entertainment Weekly” earlier this week, Jolie blamed the couple’s protracted legal fight for preventing her from directing more films.
“I enjoy directing, but a change in my family situation has prevented me from doing so for the past few years.
“I wanted to work shorter shifts and spend more time at home, so I went back to doing a few acting jobs. That is, in reality, the case,” she said.
Jolie and Pitt, both 57, divorced in 2016 after a two-year marriage. They were both legally declared single in 2019, but their divorce has yet to be finalized, and their custody dispute over their six children appears to be complicated.
Pitt and Jolie have five children: Maddox, 19, Shiloh, 14, and 12-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, in addition to Pax and Zahara.
Although court records in their case are private and sealed, Jolie’s allegations about Pitt’s allegedly abusive conduct were leaked to The Blast in March, leaving Pitt “heartbroken that Angelina has gone that direction,” as we reported at the time.
In 2016, a notorious family incident occurred on board the Jolie-Pitt family’s private plane, and although the “Fight Club” star confessed to shouting at his children, he was never charged with child violence.
