Cassie’s life has been a whirlwind for the past few years.
Her career took off after she released the classic hit “Me & U,” but she failed to keep up the momentum with her subsequent albums.
Cassie was known more for her friendship with Diddy than her work in the studio for the better part of a decade, but after officially being together for 11 years, Cassie and Combs agreed to call it quits in 2018.
Cassie reappeared online soon after, bragging about her relationship with Alex Fine, and the couple married in 2019 and welcomed their first child, a baby girl called Frankie.
Cassie announced she was pregnant again at the end of 2020, and the two spoke about juggling their professional lives with their growing families in a new interview with Ciara for Level Up Radio on Apple Music.
Cassie, who was once a natural Bad Boy artist, also revealed that she not only broke up with Diddy personally, but she was also willing to leave the company professionally.
“I walked away from Bad Boy. I was willing to back out of my agreement. So now I’m on my own,” Cassie is said to have said, according to Rap-Up. “So that’s a big difference from the beginning.”
Cassie has previously shown interest in resuming her music career, but this is a new stage for her.
“It’s such a contrast. And, to be honest, I’m just in a different position in my life right now.”
“It’s the place to be if you just want to own your things and do whatever you want. You could wake up tomorrow and decide, “Well, I’m going to make four records.”
Then I’ll bring them out and it’ll be mine. ‘What are you going to say?’ Ciara can relate to this since she founded her own company, Beauty Marks Entertainment, in 2017 and has been working for herself for quite some time.
It’s uncertain when or if Cassie will return to the music scene, and it’ll be fun to hear what sound she chooses after such a long absence.
