Chrissy Teigen got teary-eyed on her Instagram Story on Wednesday as she read fan letters about her miscarriage.
In September of last year, the 35-year-old model and her husband, John Legend, announced that their son Jack had died at the age of 20 weeks.
Teigen explained, “This is just piles of letters that we just got because the area we usually get mail from, where you guys send mail, was shut down then it opened up again. And now we have everything.”
“I just wanted to let you know that we received all of your wonderful condolence messages, cards, and books. They’re all there. And, don’t worry, I’ll read them all. Through tears, Teigen said, “I love you guys.”
Teigen said that she and Legend had followed Thai custom and planted a tree inside their new house.
According to the model, Jack’s ashes are buried in the tree’s soil.
She went on to say that both of her children, Miles and Luna, talk about Jack on a daily basis.
Teigen told People magazine in April, “The way Miles and Luna talk about him is so wonderful and reminds me of when I was tiny talking to my grandpa who was simply sitting bedside next to my mum in a little urn. It’s all lovely, and I love how tradition lives on.”
Teigen confirmed her pregnancy loss on social media after being hospitalised in September.
She wrote at the time, “We are startled and in the kind of deep anguish you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. Despite bags and bags of blood transfusions, we were never able to stop the bleeding and give our son the fluids he need. “It simply wasn’t enough.”
