On Tuesday, Demi Lovato and Noah Cyrus were caught holding hands at Six Flags, months after suspicions of a romance surfaced.
Lovato, who came out as non-binary in May, and Cyrus partied with pals at Magic Mountain in Valencia, Calif., for the “Space Jam: A New Legacy” premiere.
The 28-year-old star of “Camp Rock” wore a black beanie, a hot pink shirt, and tie-dye leggings, while the 21-year-old singer of “July” sported a white oversized sweatshirt, patched denim, and a navy beanie.
Matthew Scott Montgomery, a longtime friend of Lovato’s, was also present.
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer and Miley Cyrus’ younger sister collaborated on the song “Easy” for Lovato’s latest album, “Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over,” earlier this year.
People wondered if they were more than just friends because of their behaviour during the recording sessions, according to a source who spoke exclusively to Page Six at the time.
“They’re really close and have been hanging out,” one source stated, even speculating that the two might be having a romance.
However, a second source dismissed the allegations as “strange,” insisting that they were simply pals.
“They have dinner every now and then, but it isn’t romantic,” the person claimed. “They got together for this song, which came together a little last minute, and they hang out.”
Cyrus and Lovato’s performance comes just a week after the two debuted their duet at the YouTube Pride 2021 event. The Los Angeles Trans Chorus performed with the artists.
Following their performance, Lovato posted a selfie of themselves onstage and thanked Cyrus for joining them.
“Thank you @noahcyrus for closing out the night w me for @youtube’s pride 2021 celebration 🎊🙏🏼🙌🏼 I’m so happy we finally got to sing our song together 💞#Easy,” Lovato captioned the snap.
Cyrus replied in the comments section, “thank you for having me ❤️❤️❤️ yiu [sic] were effortlessly perfect and im never not in awe of u 😢😢😢.”
Lovato previously dated Joe Jonas and Wilmer Valderrama, and in 2020 she was briefly engaged to actor Max Ehrich. In 2018, Cyrus had a tumultuous breakup with rapper Lil Xan.
