Diddy is without a doubt one of hip-most hop’s successful moguls.
As a result, he’s been held up as a model for young musicians trying to make a name for themselves in the music industry.
Billboard reported today on a new addition to Diddy’s squad, announcing that Wassim “Sal” Slaiby has been appointed as his new manager.
Slaiby is most known for managing The Weeknd, perhaps one of the world’s biggest artists, so it’s no surprise that Diddy was impressed by his new boss’s credentials.
Slaiby manages a diverse roster of artists, including Doja Cat, French Montana, Belly, Bebe Rexha, Ty Dolla $ign, and Swedish House Mafia, in addition to The Weeknd and Diddy.
In addition to his growing portfolio, Slaiby launched SALXCO and co-founded XO Records (where he presently serves as CEO), which is a significant accomplishment in and of itself.
He was also voted Variety’s Manager of the Year in 2020, according to Billboard.
It’s no surprise that Diddy chose to connect with Sal, given his numerous awards and accomplishments.
Neither has said anything about the signing as of yet, but it will be fascinating to see how it plays out.
Perhaps Diddy will collaborate with The Weeknd and Doja Cat in some fashion; while Diddy has mainly avoided releasing music, that doesn’t mean he has completely abandoned vocals.
