Harry & Meghan Now Appear Below Prince Edward On Royals Website In Apparent Demotion

On the royals website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now listed below the Earl and Duchess of Wessex.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been pushed down the list of senior royals displayed to the Royal Family site following their Megxit to the United States and an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey attacking The Firm.

The page had been down for a few weeks while it was being rebuilt, as fans had noted.

Now that Harry and Meghan are back on the scene, they are following Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and the Wessexes.

They used to be just behind older brother Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton.

“As stated in January, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stepped back as senior members of The Royal Family,” reads Harry’s amended biography. They’re dividing their time between the UK and North America, continuing to fulfill their responsibilities to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and their patronages. In the United Kingdom, Frogmore Cottage is still their family home.”

The Duchess will continue to support a number of philanthropic causes and organizations that reflect the problems with which she has long been associated, including the arts, access to education, support for women, and animal welfare, according to Meghan’s bio.

While some may see the adjustment as a dig at the Sussexes, others believe the move is insufficient and that the pair should be completely removed from the site.

“@KensingtonRoyal @RoyalFamily still have #meghanmarkle#princeharry in the royal website? Why? They are not working royals and they ‘aren’t dividing their time between the UK and North America’ why are they being promoted in the website?” tweeted one observer, adding, “This isn’t about being petty. That website is a government site to be used ONLY for official business and working royals.”
