Jillian Michaels has remained unfazed in her comments of Lizzo’s weight, having previously stood ten toes down.
In case you missed it, this tale dates back to January 2020, when Lizzo’s figure was praised by Michaels, a television celebrity and fitness guru.
“What are we doing here, praising her body? What difference does it make? Why aren’t we applauding her work? “Because it won’t be great if she gets diabetes,” Michaels stated at the time.
She went on to explain that she appreciates Lizzo’s music, but that she will not join Lizzo’s body acceptance campaign.
Later, Lizzo retorted with a few nasty words, but Michaels remained unaffected, merely responding that she was irritated that her remarks were misconstrued as a dig at the Grammy winner.
Michaels addressed the subject once more in a recent interview with Carlos Watson.
“She’s never been brought up to me; she’s always been brought up to me. If at all possible, I’d like to remove her from the situation, and I should have done it the first time I was asked,” According to Michaels.
“I should have said, ‘Let’s separate an individual from a debate about health,’ the first time I was asked.” She continued, “You have a responsibility, to tell the truth whether it makes you popular or not when you are an expert in a category.”
She further remarked, “Individuals should be honored. We should not honor someone simply because they are large or small. We should honor someone based on the strength of their character. Obesity is harmful to one’s health. That is all there is to it. It also has no bearing on human quality. They have nothing to do with each other.”
