Mariah Carey and Jay-Z are said to have had a falling out following a “blazing row” between the two music titans in a closed-door meeting.
Carey left Jay-management Z’s organization, Roc Nation, as a result of the purported feud.
According to reports, the couple got into a brawl during a stressful meeting which Mariah had requested to contemplate the future of the ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ hitmaker’s career.
“Mariah and Jay had a tense encounter that did not go as planned. She’s made it obvious she doesn’t want anything to do with him and has ended her relationship with Roc Nation”, according to a person close to the situation.
“In the next weeks, she is expected to go public about it.”
“It’s a shame because they’ve done some fantastic stuff in recent years. This conference, on the other hand, could not have gone any worse.”
After firing her longtime manager Stella Bulochnikov, Carey joined Roc Nation in 2017, sparking litigation from both sides.
“Mariah has been speaking with different managers and believes she has found someone who fully supports her as she moves forwards,” the insider said.
According to the source, the 51-year-old singer of “We Belong Together” is working on an R&B-influenced record.
“She’s working on a strongly R&B-influenced record right now, and she’s planning a world tour for next year, so she’s not letting this get in the way,” the person said.
On the Roc Nation website, Carey has already been removed from the roster of artists handled by Jay Z’s organization.
Carey has released her 30th-anniversary album The Rarities and her biography The Meaning of Mariah Carey, which has been on the New York Times bestsellers list, since joining with Jay-Roc Z’s Nation in 2017.
Jay-Z established Roc Nation in 2008.
Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Rowland, and Megan Thee Stallion are among the celebrities that have worked with it.
