Monique Wright has announced that she and her 13-year husband, Tim Scanlan, are no longer together.
A spokeswoman for the 48-year-old Weekend Sunrise host announced the split to The Daily Telegraph on Thursday.
‘Monique and Tim decided to split a long time ago and have managed to raise their three lovely children together,’ according to the release.
‘They have always been and continue to be highly private people. They are absolutely dedicated to their children and request privacy and respect due to the presence of three young children.’
Monique hadn’t been wearing her wedding ring in recent broadcasts of the show, according to The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential.
Monique and Tim started dating in 2008 after meeting at a party, and they married a year later.
Monique announced to The Daily Telegraph in April 2015 that she was shocked to learn she was pregnant with her third child at the age of 42.
‘It was the furthest thing from our minds.’ ‘It was totally unexpected, so we are ecstatic,’ she said at the time.
‘I didn’t meet Tim until I was well into my 30s, and now I’m 41, and we have two and a half children,’ she explained at the time.
Monique began her career at Channel Seven as a reporter in 1996, before taking over as the Sunrise weather presenter from Grant Denyer.
She was appointed co-host of Weekend Sunrise in February 2014, after previously filling in for former host Samantha Armytage.
