RapCaviar’s official 2010s Mount Rushmore list has been the subject of much debate on Twitter this week.
The curators of the ultra-popular Spotify playlist presented a list of some of the most influential rap artists of the last decade, including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole, who were added to the Mount Rushmore mock-up.
RapCaviar polled hip-hop fans to see who should be the fourth face on the monument and received comments from almost everyone.
Future should have been handed the final position, according to LeBron James.
After LeBron endorsed Future, Nicki Minaj, a defining artist of the decade, slipped into his responses and reminded him of her existence, throwing up an alley-oop and declaring that there is only one acceptable response: Nicki Minaj.
Nicki was officially named the fourth face on Mount Rushmore after the Barbz got started on the fan-determined poll set up by RapCaviar.
On Tuesday afternoon, the playlist’s creators tweeted,
“@NICKIMINAJ, End of conversation.” The poll found that roughly 40% of those who voted thought Nicki should be included to the list, out of over 170,000 votes.
Kanye West received 33% of the vote, with Future coming in second with 17%. In the end, Lil Wayne received 9% of the vote.
