Black Rob, a former Bad Boy Records artist, tragically died on April 17th at the age of 51.
In the days preceding his death, the “Wpup” rapper was candid about his struggles with numerous health issues.
He explained that he had had four strokes in the previous five years and was now homeless.
While Black Rob was battling health issues, many questioned why the wealthy Diddy did not intervene.
Rob’s manager previously chastised the mogul for offering to cover funeral expenses, ranting, “People dragged their feet and nothing was accomplished.
So you’re going to pay for his funeral now that he’s dead and gone! Everybody wants to help you after you’re gone!”
Now, Pete, a member of Black Rob’s community, is defending the rap mogul, stating that the outpouring of grief at the late Bad Boy artist’s funeral service is completely misplaced.
Pete took to the stage at Harlem’s Metropolitan Baptist Church to explain that the wrong people were being thanked for Black Rob’s journey, while also giving Diddy a round of applause.
“Additionally, when discussing Puff Daddy — when [Black Rob] required medical assistance, Puff arranged for the best doctors and supplies.
The finest hotels, whatever he desired. He’s been there since the beginning “The gentleman stated.
He went on to say, “Puff has always been present. Therefore, shame on you if you’re in there speaking ill of him. He was always willing to assist Rob. Even when we were already done — Rob had blown through the money, as in, ‘Rob, how did you spend all this money?’ I’m not sure, but call Puff. ‘ Are you sure? We adore you.”
It is unknown whether Diddy was present for the services. Nonetheless, the consensus appears to be that the Bad Boys CEO extended all assistance possible.
BROWN Rob died at the age of 51 of kidney failure and cardiac arrest. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
