According to a close friend, Texas rapper Lil Loaded died on Monday, just days after his smash single “6locc 6a6y” was certified gold.
He was 20 years old at the time.
The Dallas-based hip-hop crooner, whose legal name was Dashawn Robertson reportedly took his own life after he found out the woman he was in love with was cheating on him!
Robertson’s death, according to Robertson’s attorney, Ashkan Mehryari, was “extremely terrible” and “unexpected.”
Mehryari remarked, “He had a very bright and brilliant music career ahead of him.”
Robertson, in his last Instagram story, had posted a message that read in part, “Dear most high, please forgive me for my shortcomings and all of the times I’ve fell ahort of making you proud and being appreciative of the blessings that have been put in my life.”
“Through all of my errors, I pray for admittance into your kingdom. I know you love all of your children, and I’m ready to join you with my heart and soul.”
Robertson was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday for a manslaughter hearing in the shooting death of his best friend, 18-year-old Khalil Walker, in October 2020.
The hearing had not weighed on Robertson, who was out on bond, according to Mehryari of the Dallas Morning News. He stated that his client was not guilty of the charge.
After his song “6locc 6a6y” went viral on YouTube in the summer of 2019, the musician signed with Epic Records.
Last Thursday, the Recording Industry Association of America awarded the song gold certification.
No report on the method of suicide or more details on the story yet. We will keep you posted as we get more.
