Thanks to Love & Hip Hop, Remy Ma has established herself as a reality television star as well as a rapper, and now she’s extending her relationship with VH1 by starring in a new show.
The rapper has had previous run-ins with the authorities, having been sentenced to prison in connection with a shooting in 2007.
Remy was released in 2014 and has maintained her innocence throughout the years, so it’s only right that she narrates a show about other people’s encounters with the criminal court system.
Individuals will tell their stories of criminal activity, injustice, and prejudice at the hands of police enforcement in My True Crime Story.
In the trailer, Remy says, “These atrocities made headlines; now hear the genuine stories from the masterminds themselves.”
According to The Jasmine Brand, the approach will be similar to what true crime viewers have come to expect, featuring interviews with law enforcement as well as friends and family members who have direct knowledge of key events.
These stories are purportedly being used as a warning to people who believe they are above the law or untouchable.
On August 2nd at 10/9c, VH1 will air My True Crime Story.
