Selena Gomez, 29, and her 8-year-old sister, Gracie, re-created a scene from the TV programme “Full House” on TikTok, drawing influence from two renowned sitcom sisters, D.J. and Stephanie Tanner.
“I’m older, taller, smarter,” Gomez says in response to D.J.’s (Candace Cameron Bure) comments from the programme, which aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995 and was recently resurrected by Netflix.
Gracie retaliates, echoing Stephanie’s (Jodie Sweetin) remarks, “I’m younger, I’m shorter, I’m… not falling for that.”
In less than 48 hours, the video, which Gomez titled “sisters,” went viral and had over 2.3 million likes.
Because Gomez is very reserved on social media regarding her personal life, the “Rare” singer’s sisterly content delighted fans.
In response to the video, one fan tweeted, “WE GOT SELENA AND GRACIE CONTENT AHHHHH MY BABIES.”
“I can’t believe how big Gracie is,” another wrote, “time flies.”
Gomez took her younger sister to the premiere of “Frozen 2” in November 2019 before making Gracie TikTok famous.
They even wore matching Marc Jacobs floral floor-length dresses with matching sequin and feather capes for the event.
According to Gomez’s Instagram post, Gracie, who was just 6 years old at the time, had “her best life” at the premiere.
Gomez added, “I hope I’m officially the best big sissy ever now.”
Brian Teefey, Gomez’s stepfather, is Gracie’s father.
Gomez named one of the swimsuits she created after her younger sister, it was reported earlier this month.
