Titmus Claims Another Gold After Dual Rowing Success

Ariarne Titmus of Australia won another gold medal in the women’s 200m freestyle final on Wednesday, following her historic victory in the 400m freestyle earlier this week.

Earlier in the day, Australia’s rowers made history by winning back-to-back gold medals in the women’s four final, with Lucy Stephan, Rosemary Popa, Jessica Morrison, and Annabelle McIntyre.

Our rowers Alexander Purnell, Spencer Turrin, Jack Hargreaves, and Alexander Hill won gold in the men’s fours in a tumultuous race not long after.

The British team swerved into their rival’s lane only 200 metres from the finish line, dropping out of contention.

Our women’s and men’s quadruple sculls teams also performed admirably, winning bronze medals in their respective events.

Day 5 will see the Olyroos and Boomers continue their Olympic campaigns, while both of Australia’s hockey teams are set for exciting matches.
