“It’s great to be back.” Last night, former President Donald Trump walked to the stage with these words, making his comeback to public speaking with a broadside against the United States.
He blasted Joe Biden’s presidency, demanded Covid reparations from China, and bemoaned his social media restrictions.
Trump warned the audience at the North Carolina Republican Convention in Greenville, in only his second speech since leaving office in January, that America was being “demeaned and humiliated” on the international stage.
“Crime is exploding,” “the economy is in shambles,” and “drugs are pouring in” across a “wide open” border, he claimed.
Trump declared the Republicans would retake Congress and the White House “sooner than you might imagine” before hitting the stage, but he stopped short of stating he’d run again in 2024.
It comes following rumors that Trump has informed friends that he is about to be reinstated as president.
The 74-year-old rambled on for more than an hour, criticizing US Covid czar Dr. Anthony Fauci, calling him “not a wonderful doctor” and claiming that “China must pay” for supposedly leaking the virus from a Wuhan laboratory — a charge that has yet to be verified.
The 45th President of the United States opened with an ominous warning, dressed in a red tie, black suit, and sporting his signature quiff.
He remarked, “As we assemble tonight, our country is being destroyed right in front of our eyes.”
“Crime is on the rise, police departments are being dismantled and defunded, can you believe it – is defunding our cops good politics?”
“If you look at our border, it’s wide open; illegal immigration is at an all-time high, and this has only been going on for a few months.”
“Drugs are flooding in, gas costs are skyrocketing, and foreign cyber-attacks are plundering our industry.”
“That demonstrates a lack of regard for our country and its leaders.”
“And speaking of our politicians, they’re kowtowing to China, and America is being degraded and humiliated on the international stage.”
“Left-wing cancel culture is encroaching on our freedom, and the Biden administration is instilling toxic critical race theory and criminal discrimination in our children’s schools.”
“Now tell me: Joe Biden and the socialist Democrats are the most radical left-wing administration in history, even Bernie Sanders can’t believe it,” he says.
“Our ability to elect Republicans at every level, starting with the midterm elections next year, depends on our ability to get it done. We have to defend our borders, we have to do all of these things,” he continued.
The audience was moved by Trump’s speech. Even before he started speaking, he was greeted with a loud ovation as he paraded around the stage to the sounds of “God Bless the United States of America.”
He went into detail about the hypothesis that Covid-19 leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which was ignored last year when Trump brought it up but is now being researched.
Dr. Fauci and others have recently admitted that it is possible.
“The data reveals that the virus originated in a Chinese government lab,” Trump stated. “The media, Democrats, and so-called experts are now recognizing what I initially asserted 13 months ago.”
“And Dr. Fauci, with whom I actually got along, is a charming man, a fantastic promoter, not a great doctor, but a fantastic promoter; he likes television more than any politician in this room, and they all like television.”
“However, he’s been wrong on practically every topic, and he was also terribly incorrect on Wuhan and the lab.”
“In general, I went the other direction of what Dr. Fauci was suggesting,” he continued, “for example, Dr. Fauci said don’t restrict our borders to China or Europe, but I did it anyway, and months later he acknowledged I made the right decision and saved thousands and thousands of lives.”
“At first, Fauci claimed emphatically that he didn’t want to wear masks, but then he did and became an extreme masker.”
“However, Fauci was likely never more wrong than when he rejected the virus’s origins; the moment has come for the United States and the rest of the world to seek restitution and accountability from China’s communist party.”
“With one voice, we should all declare that China must pay.”
“We had a terrific election,” Trump said of the November presidential election and the January storming of the US Capitol building. Things went wrong, but we had a fantastic election.”
He said Biden had ‘wrecked’ the economy, while Trump said he had given it on in good shape to the incoming president.
President Biden recently praised “historic progress” on the employment front, claiming that more than two million jobs have been generated since his election.
“All Joe Biden had to do was sit back and do nothing, and it took off like a rocket ship,” Trump added.
“Instead, the economy is in shambles, and inflation will wreak havoc in the near future.”
“A million jobs a month looked within reach not long ago, but now it appears to be wishful thinking,” according to The New York Times, which I don’t frequently quote. That was a far cry from what we could have done. For the second month in a row, monthly job projections have fallen short of predictions.
“Inflation is at its highest level in 13 years, and it’s likely to rise further, costing you a lot more.”
Trump also chastised Biden for delaying the 1,700-mile Keystone XL Pipeline, which would have transported 800,000 barrels of oil per day from Canada to the Texas coast if not for Biden’s decision to suspend construction in the name of combating climate change.
“The Biden administration appears to be putting America last,” Trump tweeted of the decision. Take a look at these negotiations, when so much has gone wrong.
“President Biden’s day one rejection of the Keystone project resulted in the loss of 48,000 jobs; why did they do that?
“Moreover, if you care about the ecology, the pipeline is preferable than railway tracks and transportation.” It’s fantastic, and they finished it on the first day.”
“I want to thank everyone for the amazing support you’ve shown,” Trump said in a video released shortly before the ceremony. We’re going to retake the Senate, the House, and the White House, and it’ll be something remarkable sooner than you think.”
